Eastward Ho Golf Course Chatham, MA Night Light
The scenic Golf Course in Chatham, MA called Eastward Ho is as pretty an ocean front course as you'll find in New England, but the real significance of the course lies on the ground it occupies.
Here somewhere on this course lies the remains of the Indian Squanto who played such a key role in the survival of The Plymouth Bay Colony. He died here on a trip with the Colony Governor Bradford to bargain for beans and corn to feed the starving pilgrims.
Here the Nickerson family, one of the founding families of Chatham and Cape Cod itself maintained their homes, their salt works and their shipyard.
The site's location as the easternmost point on the continental US also played a determine factor in the airstrip that existed here in WWII.
Much history lies between the tee and the pin when you play Eastward Ho overlooking Pleasant Bay in Chatham.
